Boeing Debuts HRL’s Revolutionary Metallic Micro-lattice

The Boeing Company features HRL’s metallic micro-lattice material on its website, claiming the extremely strong but ultra-lightweight material “could revolutionize the way airplanes, cars and even buildings are constructed.” HRL with collaborators Caltech and UC Irvine were honored in October with Popular Mechanics magazine's 2012 Breakthrough Award for their groundbreaking development of micro-lattice materials and fabrication process.
