LOS ANGELES, September 28, 2007 — HRL Laboratories, LLC is pleased to announce that its Chairman of the Board Dr. Paul Kaminski has been named a Pioneer of National Reconnaissance, the highest honor the Department of Defense National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) can bestow.
Dr. Kaminski was a pioneer in technology in satellite systems for NRO and is acclaimed for using aircraft to demonstrate how reconnaissance sensors could work in space. His contributions helped enable intelligence capabilities vital to national security.
After his career in National Reconnaissance from 1971 to 1976, he served as Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Technology. Dr. Kaminski is currently the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Technovation, Inc. and serves on the NRO Technical Advisory Board, along with his Board leadership role at HRL Laboratories.
